INTEX / ZEBRONICS Fake RTC8139D/RTL8139D Lan Chipset Drivers

Continuing my further research on the low quality LAN/NIC cards available in India...
This new INTEX / ZEBRONICS card has chipsets printed saying RTC8139D or even RTL8139D....
But both these chipsets are fake...

The driver supplied with has to installed otherwise.. even Windows XP fails to autodetect and install it as a Realtek LAN Card...

The Drivers supplied are written by Silan MicroElectronics Inc, China (www.silan.com.cn)

I have tested both the cards from INTEX & ZEBRONICS with XP & SP2 and the drivers supplied worked well..
Here are those drivers which upon installation lists the LAN/NIC Card as Realtek 8139d Card..which is totally fake...
INTEX_NIC_Fake_RTL8139d.zip
Zebronics_NIC_Fake_RTL8139d.zip

Once again.. i would recommend everyone not to fall for these cards...due to low cost...
Go for standard companies like DLINK or INTEL..
Even Original Realtek Cards are available..but proper detection has to be done in order to confirm whether its original or not...
Original Realtek/Dlink/Intel based cards get automatically installed in Windows XP without any driver disk requirement...

these intex/zebronics cards do not work on linux at all. you just need to go for DLink or an original realtek.

hi friends,
i'm facing the problem after i reinstalled my xp and i had replaced twice in the intex service centers but its of no use.....i also suggest all of u to buy the d-link card

hey ur link was a life saver... was looking for the "fake" realtek NIC drivers since long (as my assembler dint gimme tat), ur link made my day!!

also, a very interesting and debatable issue of this so called fake chipset... wats wrong in having them, as long as they work! i mean so far, for me this card has done excellent job (it was when i formatted my system when i realized tat i dint had d drivers!) but otherwise this card is dirt cheap (almost half d price of an "original") and stable...

but thx once again 2 u!!

Nice work Shalabhsneha!

Hats off to you for the effort and letting the rest of us know.

This is a note to add that machines installed with a fresh copy of Win XP SP3 will not detect the lan card and your link to the "chinese" drivers is just what people need!

Well done again.

Hi BOSS .. Why i called you boss? bcoz you open my Eye. I am head of the department in reputed manufacturing MNC. Just few days before I requested to my reportee to buy one ethernet card for home use. He purchased one from our regular vendor and paid Rs. 700 for it. Everything is fine at this moment.

Now what happened, I forgot this card to install it on PC for a week. Now when i get time i put it in PCI slot and windows asked me for Device Driver CD, which was lost by me. My god i was got irritated by searching the appropriate drive. Now when i have gone through this blog i can successfully installed driver and starts my work.

Why i wrote all above story because as i am head and i was unaware of this fake card. Its obvious to home users to easily get fooled by vendor because they haven’t good knowledge of network component. IT’S VENDOR WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SELLING FAKE MATERIAL AND PIRACY

I already given order to replace entire fake cards in my group to new branded one.

Thanks once again boss.

Once again the endless saga of China fake and counterfeit products that really made some consumers like us fall into trouble in getting the after sales support and service. Don't afraid to fork out some money and get some reliable brands. -powerwoot-

hi...
but the tech com link u have provided opens a 226kb zip file which contains only a read me file which says please insert the driver disk...
anyways nice insight from u towards the lan cards...

Shalabhsneha Katdare said...

Hi,

If it says 'Please insert the driver disk', then either you are not installing the driver properly or the driver file which u downloaded is not for your LAN/NIC Card.
Please double check.

Thanks,
Shalabh
